AOL To Provide "The Rest of the Story" of 'Smallville'
30 April 2003 (StudioBriefing)
The producers of The WB's Smallville are tying up loose ends on certain episodes with a series of three-minute shorts being offered exclusively to AOL subscribers (AOL Keyword: Smallville). The WB network and AOL are corporate siblings in the AOL Time Warner conglomerate. Allison Mack, who plays high-school journalist Chloe on the series, told the Associated Press Tuesday, "A lot of times on Smallville people die and we just move on to the next episode and don't go in depth into the reason why they died, what's behind it. ... We're taking story lines from previous episodes and just going more in depth." Titled The Chloe Chronicles, the series began Tuesday on AOL and is due to continue for four more weeks.

Allison Mack's preferred charity is the Make-A-Wish Foundation. In lieu of sending a birthday or holiday gift, please consider making a tribute donation in her name.

Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening illnesses through its wish-granting work. The Foundation's mission reflects the life-changing impact that a Make-A-Wish® experience has on children, families, referral sources, donors, sponsors, and entire communities.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation was founded in 1980 after a little boy named Chris Greicius realized his heartfelt wish to become a police officer. Since its humble beginnings, the organization has blossomed into a worldwide phenomenon, reaching more than 97,000 children worldwide. Although it has become one of the world's most well-known charities, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has maintained the grassroots fulfillment of its mission.

A network of more than 25,000 volunteers enable the Make-A-Wish Foundation to serve children with life-threatening illnesses. Volunteers serve as wish granters, fund raisers, special events assistants, and in numerous other capacities. As the Foundation continues to mature, its mission will remain steadfast. Wish children of the past, present, and future will have an opportunity to share the power of a wish®.

Mini Biography
Mack was born in Germany but moved with her family to Long Beach, California, when she was 2. She began acting at 4 with print work and commercials, and began studying at The Young Actors Space in Los Angeles when she was 7. She is still currently attending classes there in improvisation and scene study. Before joining the cast of "Smallville" (2001), Allison starred in the short-lived and sorely under-rated Fox television comedy "Opposite Sex" (2000). Prior to that, she was a regular on "Hiller and Diller" (1997), working alongside great talents such as Richard Lewis, Kevin Nealon, and Eugene Levy. Allison has also guest-starred in the WB family drama "7th Heaven" (1996) as a teenager caught up in the "cutting" trend.

Mack has starred in many movies for television, including the cable film My Horrible Year! (2001) (TV), which was directed by Eric Stoltz and starring Karen Allen, Mimi Rogers, and Stoltz himself. She was also in A Private Matter (1992) (TV) with Sissy Spacek and Aidan Quinn, Living a Lie (1991) (TV) with Peter Coyote and Jill Eikenberry, Unlikely Angel (1996) (TV) with Dolly Parton and Roddy McDowall, and Stolen Memories: Secrets from the Rose Garden (1996) (TV) starring Mary Tyler Moore and Linda Lavin. Allison is also an accomplished dancer and singer and she currently living in Los Angeles. She enjoys reading, going to movies and plays and spending time with her friends and family.

Personal Quotes
The most powerful way we can live our lives is if we stick within the community. So when you come together as a community to achieve one specific goal, its really just a beautiful thing.

Born July 29, 1982 in Preez, Germany, Allison Mack is an accomplished and talented actress with over a decade of experience in the entertainment industry.

"My very first job was a commercial for German chocolate and it was all in German," Mack told TV Zone in 2001. "The thing that still sticks out in my mind most about it was I wasn't allowed to swallow the chocolate. I would take a bite and then at the end of every take I'd have to spit it out. That was very frustrating especially for a kid."

Upon her move to California at age 6, Allison worked steadily through her childhood and teens. Mack studied acting at famed Los Angeles school Young Actors Space, and her credits include films such as Police Academy 6: City Under Siege and Camp Nowhere and the direct-to-video family film Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves, as well a variety of movies-of-the-week along side such stars as Sissy Spacek, Leslie Ann Warren, and Dolly Parton. Allison has co-starred in three network series, Hill & Diller, Opposite Sex and Smallville, in addition to starring in actor Eric Stoltz' directorial debut, My Horrible Year! for Showtime.

"Although I began acting when I was a child I didn't really think about it as a profession until I was around 15," she continued. "When I was younger I was definitely afraid of kissing boys, so I didn't want to become an actress because I didn't want to have to do those types of scenes. Instead, I was interested in becoming a veterinarian, a marine biologist, a dolphin trainer and then a director. However, the older I got, the more I realized that I had a real passion for acting. I thought if I had the opportunity to do what I loved most and make a living doing it, then why not? So I decided to go for it and I'm so happy that I did."

Prior to getting a small hosue in Vancouver, Canada, where Smallville is shot, Allison resided in Southern California with her parents, Jonathan and Mindy, and siblings Shannon and Robyn. In addition to dancing and singing, Allison loves to read, paint, make pottery, and listen to music.

"She says that Tom Welling has definitely talked to the people at the Superman movie about starring in it - and she said "personally I think he's the one actor that could do that role justice - he is Superman!" She assured us that the superman film is still happening, because the film folks are talking to the tv folks about not treading on anyone's toes and vice versa. Someone said she should play Lois, and she said that'd be too weird and after all, they've already got Jessica Beal or Beyonce." Mack currently stars as Chloe Sullivan on the WB/CW series Smallville. She and co-star Kristin Kreuk have become close friends.

Mack was born in Germany to American parents, Mindy and Jonathan Mack. Her father was an opera singer performing there. The Mack family moved back to the United States when she was two years old.

She began her acting career at the age of four in commercials for "German Chocolate." Mack then went into modeling for a short period because her mother thought she "looked cute in clothes." She began studying at The Young Actors Space in Los Angeles when she was seven.

Her first major TV role came in an episode of the WB series 7th Heaven, in which she gained a lot of attention playing a teenager who cut herself. In 2000, she starred in two short-lived series, Hiller and Diller and Opposite Sex. She also starred beside Sam Jones III in an R. L. Stine miniseries The Nightmare Room. Her filmography includes Eric Stoltz's directorial debut My Horrible Year!, in which she plays a girl having great difficulties in her life as she turns sixteen, and Camp Nowhere.

In the summer of 2006, Mack's voice was heard as the sister of the main character in the Warner Bros. CGI movie The Ant Bully. That year she also provided the voice of a museum curator named Clea in an episode of The Batman (who bore a deliberate resemblance to Mack).
